Nocturnal Emission
A nocturnal emission is an involuntary ejaculation of semen that occurs during sleep. It is also called as “wet dream” or “night fall”.
Nocturnal emissions are most common during teenage and early adult years. However, nocturnal emissions may occur any time after puberty. It is sometimes an embarrassing subject. Studies show that approximately 83% of men have experienced nocturnal emission. This may be accompanied by erotic dreams or the emission may happen without erection.
In some instances, the male wakes up once the orgasm has occurred but in other instances it is possible to sleep right through it. The frequency of nocturnal emission can be hard to compare, as they vary considerably from male to male. Factors such as masturbation, age and diet affects it.
